If you don't want stupid answers...

...then don't ask stupid questions.

Question: Father, what do we call the candidates now that they've been confirmed?
Answer: uh....Catholics.

Yes, this was a real conversation. One of my roommates was the individual who gave the remarkably witty response, even though she was not the person being asked the question and hadn't been involved in the conversation at all. Welcome to my life.

I promise that there will be more to come very soon. I'm currently working on a post about some of the top reasons I love my job.

Hollywood's Literature

If you're reading this post and are assuming that I'm blogging because my life has finally slowed down to a point where I can actually spend some time composing posts, then you'd be wrong. However, I have found a few spare minutes this evening and thought I'd share a few thoughts on some movies I've seen recently.

The first movie I saw was Vantage Point. Most of my casual acquaintances don't know that I have a great love of movies that revolve around conspiracy theories. I'm not sure where this love came from, but I'm just drawn to them. Maybe later I'll do a post on my favorite conspiracy movies. I'm not about to give any of the plot away, but if you like movies with lots of twists and turns I would highly recommend it.

The other movie I saw was The Other Boleyn Girl. Those who know me well that my favorite book genre is historical fiction and the people who know me best know I have a fascination with Tudor England. I have read several historical novels based on Tudor England including Phillipa Greggory's The Other Boleyn Girl, the story of the rise and fall of Anne Boleyn, told through the eyes of her sister Mary. So needless to say I was thrilled when I found out that a movie was being made. I waited patiently for several months in anticipation of seeing how Hollywood would interpret the book I had enjoyed so much. Without fail, just as it always does, Hollywood let me down. I know that I probably expect too much from movies, but I don't understand how you make a good movie by completely butchering a book.

Just my humble opinion.
